Colin Powell Endorses Barack

I was so delighted when I saw this news item (on another source), that I hollered "Go Colin Powell!" I have always suspected him of being a man of solid sense--when he was ashamed of his appearance before the UN urging action against Iraq, and later, when he no longer felt able to represent the Bush administration, though he refrained from expressing public criticism.

However, the reaction from McCain and the right has been disappointing and predictable: either veiled or overt racist remarks, from McCain's "I'm not surprised," to Limbaugh's claims that Powell is backing Obama because he is black. Offensive. Disgusting. Unless he is trying to say that he, Limbaugh, is only supporting McCain because he is white?
